Recycle
This concept is one of my favourite art things to do...recycling painted paper for collage. I even used randomly painted papers in a painting for a competition two years ago. Since I don't paint portraits, the only type of art that made the finals, my painting didn't get anywhere. But it is still one of my all time favourite abstracts.
I love collage of all types, and will often make tags (a junk journal thing) with collage, and now also have four sketchbooks of various sizes (two really small) exclusively to play with collage.

Interesting way to recycle. I can see that as a great assignment for an art class.
ReplyDeleteHi Liz, we have done collage in our art group, but this one took 4 weeks to do, and then my group would fall behind, and probably abandon the project. It was a lot of work - loads of fun though!
DeletePaper collage is one of my favorite hobbies. I know you had a lot of fun putting the one you shared together. I usually do 5x8 but increasingly doing 8.5x11.
ReplyDeleteHI Lisa, the size of this one is the exception of what I would do as a pure collage. I would only use small pieces in a large painting, but a collage only project would not be larger than A4 for me either.
